Who We Are
The International Perinatal Stem Cell Society, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded on the basic principle that stem cells from perinatal tissues contain enormous, untapped life potential to treat many diseases and disorders.
Perinatal stem cell sources include:
|
After a birth, the collection and donation of the perinatal tissues offers absolutely no risk to either the mother or to the newborn. Often these abundant resources of stem cells and tissue are considered medical waste and are disposed of after a birth.
Today, perinatal tissues are considered life saving resources
with the potential to treat many diseases and save lives!

Our Founding Principals
In 2013, the International Perinatal Stem Cell Society, Inc. a non-profit (501(c)(3) organization was founded on the basic principle that stem cells from perinatal tissues contain enormous, untapped life potential to treat many diseases and disorders. Perinatal stem cell sources include: amnion, amniotic fluid, cord blood, cord tissue/wharton’s jelly, as well as placental blood and placental tissue. Perinatal stem cells are formed around the time of birth and are classified as adult stem cells but they really are more primitive then stem cells found in bone marrow or adipose tissue or other traditional sources of adult stem cells and as such, have greater therapeutic potential.

Our Growing Influence in the Regenerative Medicine Community As the society has grown, so has our profile and role in the regenerative medicine community. We continue to embrace our growing role. One of our biggest successes was that in support of the REGROW ACT, legislation to promote stem cell treatment advances that ultimately passed as part of the 21st Century Cures Act, the Perinatal Stem Cell Society was able to gather over 35,000 signatures and presented these signatures to members of congress along with over 700 pages of comments urging action and a Yes vote. |
We Organize World-Class
Scientific Conferences
To celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we are hosting a virtual scientific extravaganza and have 26 world-renown scientists who previously presented at the Perinatal conferences returning to present their latest scientific data and outcomes.
In addition to the 26 new presentations, attendees to the 10th Anniversary Conference will also have access to all to the previous conferences that we recorded. This includes over 50 additional lectures that tell the story of the evolution of the Perinatal Stem Cell space.

History of Our Conferences
The International Perinatal Stem Cell Society, Inc. was founded in 2013 with the express purpose of bringing more attention to the field of Perinatal Stem Cells. At the time the stem cell community and the major stem cell conferences were glancing over the topic of Perinatal Tissue sources for regenerative medicine. Our society set out to change this and after 10 years of hard work Perinatal Stem Cells and Tissues are a central focus for the regenerative medicine field.
After editing our 3rd edition of Perinatal Stem Cells in 2011, we decided it was time to create a non-profit and to hold a conference. The International Perinatal Stem Cell Society, Inc was incorporated in May 2013.
We held our first conference in 2014 in Berkeley, CA as part of the Regenerative Medicine Foundation and this meeting was an incredible success.
In 2016, we held a two day conference in Aspen, CO.
In 2017, we hosted the first of a multiyear conference run at the Leonardo Museum in Salt Lake City, UT.
We held additional conferences in 2018, 2019, and 2020 in Salt Lake City, UT. The March 2020 conference was one of the last events that took place prior to Covid changing the world. In 2020, we had a second and larger conference planned to take place in May in Prague, Czech Republic which had to be cancelled due to Covid-19.
In 2022, we held a conference in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Throughout the 10 years of its existence, the International Perinatal Stem Cell Society has focused on working with industry and regulators to bring the field of Perinatal Stem Cells and Tissue regenerative medicine products to patients.

Couples now have choices about these
valuable resources! • Discarding perinatal tissues
• Donating the perinatal tissue • Banking the perinatal tissue and cord blood in a private cord blood bank for the child that has just been born or for his/her family. |
